This is my boyfriend and I during his 2 weeks home for hometown recruiting, this is a picture of his first day doing it, and it was my first day of college (i’m a freshman), He left september 16 for another 3 months for more training, he’s in special operations. We met my sophomore year of highschool, he was a senior, neither of us ever thought that we’d be where we are today. he didn’t join the military until my senior year of highschool. we just had our 3 year anniversary 1400 miles away from each other :( including my birthday, and his birthday is oct 29, and he’ll be 21. so we won’t be able to celebrate that. we also won’t be able to celebrate thanksgiving or christmas this year together because of him being stationed by then in georgia. But I appreciate everytime we do get to spend with each other, and I’d NEVER trade him for anything. when you’re in a military relationship, you realize how many things that were soooo important, aren’t the important things anymore. society and religion has made them seem mandatory, but being in a military relationship or family you realize that the fact you have each other is the most important thing you can have. and that when you are together, it’s just as important as say christmas. christmas and every other holiday out there is a privilege, you’re really damn lucky if you get to spend time with your military loved ones during that time.. I just read a post of a girl wanting an air force boyfriend. hunny, it’s actually pretty damn hard to find even a respectful man in the military. if they’re a “nice boy”, they were one before they joined. a lot of men are pigs even in the military. get that stereotype out of your head and save yourself some disappointment. you have no idea the sacrifices military women go through each day. not many people are meant for military life. I didn’t think i was, but i sacrificed a LOT. and i realized i wanted the MAN. not the life. I just wanted to put my two cents in. :) Fall of 2012, i’m most likely going to be engaged, and summer of 2013 married. and not once have i ever had second thoughts. I love this boy with every piece of me.
